In 1956, as Pyrford grew in size, a group known as Pyrford Young Wives decided to put on a play. As enthusiasm for drama grew, it became clear that the casting of future productions would be easier with the inclusion of male members. Pyrford Young Wives would obviously no longer be a suitable title for the group and so in 1959, Pyrford Little Theatre was born. Today PLT is still a thriving group that includes a diverse membership taking part in a wide range of productions across the year.
